Starfleet, this is the U.S.S Hyperion. We have broken the warp 1-[static]-Starfleet! STARFLEET! Can you hear us? We've been out here for weeks... Only one thing to do... Look at the majesty below us... It's amazing.

Haha way better than me. The solid detail works wonders on this one. Sorts of reminds me of the Pinwheel galaxy. I like it.

Guess it kinda does, doesn't it? lol It looks too perfect in terms of its spiral shape though.. No galaxy is perfect. It needs to be more irregular. haha

Perhaps near the bottom you could add some wispy gas formations. Ya know, something that curves along the galaxy but isn't a solid arm.
